at 12.45 we discover our plane flies already at 12.35 - so a quick sprint to the plane and we did it, we are inside - then our seats were occupied. After some back and forth, they found seats for us.During the flight we met Arno - a German Teacher - we we agree that it is cheaper if we share costs: so we will rent a car together - ok we saved money but not nerves.
Yellowstone park
so we drive to the Yellowstone park and after some phoning around we got a room in the Canyon Village: I'm sure sleeping outside would had some good points too... but we were suddenly not so nature lovers with the bears and that was Yellowstone for us:
- some discrepancies between us
- we are now 4 instead of 3
- and we discover not enough planes so we can actually leave - all is booked out
- it's different than we thought
- there are a lot of tourists
- we were here why to short
- there are not enough overnight stay possibilities
- there are too many cars and traffic jams
- we left our guidebook behind
- it is a park with unlimited possibilities
- we only saw a small park
- it is unbelievable and faszinating
Aug 6
today we go around with the car to explore the park: Finally we all got it together and we are like all the other tourists on the road: we came by the Towerfalls - a 40 m high waterfall - then we went towards Lama Valley, there a little bit away from the tourist, should be a petrified forest - but we didn't find it - but we found a petrified Geyser, so a Buffalo and a bear baby: surrounded by thousands of tourists and the same amount of cars on a very narrow road - so there is no passing or driving by: that means we had to stop too....
Lunch at the Roosevelt lodge and there we met 2 guys who work at the old faithfull inn one from CSSR and one from PAris.
Then we came by a petrified tree and arrived at the Mammoth Hot spings with the Obsidian cliffs and the roaring mountains and arrive at the Norris Geysir Basin and the Steamboat Geysir: which was the first erypting Geysir we saw - they say once it was even the tallest geysir in the world with an eruption of 400 ft... then to the Erysmalt Geysir - that's where we practised patience, but we got rewarded with a huge eruption we saw from the beginning to the end.
And by a lot of geysirs and springs we came back to the Canyon village.
