Sat - August 7
after a call to Delta, we discover that there is no more flight out of the Yellowstone park, so rent a car and drive to the next airport: Idaho Falls.

Where to stay in Los Angeles
and we arrive at 8 pm and take a taxi to our booked hotel "Banana motel" - only they don't have a free room, so we walk down the street and check out every Motel and Hotel - looks like no one has a free room. The Youth Hostel doesn't take reservation, you can come by, and when we did there was nothing available. in one of the hotels a guy working told us, that a friend of his has a motel and there is one room still for rent - because it isn't the best one... so again in a taxi and we go to this old crappy place.


Sunday - August 8

Sanctuary church
it's 7 am and the traffic noise woke us up. With the taxi we go to the airport and rent a car!!! And now we are on the search for the Sanctuary church: the Heavy Metal church in LA. On Saturday we only got the answering machine - we would like to go to their service, so we checked in the phone book, find a praise Sanctuary church, call and they invite us. So we end up in the Santa Monica area and find a black church and attend a 2.5 hour long service

Redondo Beach
from 2000 m elevation we are now at 0 m sea level.... Redondo Beach. So we now discover that you have to look in the right phonebook: so back on Redondo Beach we check and find the church. But there was no address only a P.O. Box... we check at the police station but they couldn't helps us either
So we visit Venice beach and eat American style.


August 9
we go for a swim early in the morning when Laski wanted to change cloth and we got told that you can't change your cloth on the beach - that is not allowed as per life guard. This morning we had donuts for breakfast

Finally at the Sanctuary Church
now it's time to go to the post office and check out the P.O. box - we get the correct post office and arrive there at 11.55 - the post office closes at 12.00. and we discover in this mall that the post office is on the top floor at the end... so we run up and for 3 $ we get finally the address.Now out the map the one we now very well in the mean time and at 12.30 we are at the Rockefeller Lande and sit in front of the office and wait and wait....
then Bob Beemann came with DAve & Steve. And we go with them into their storage and get everything we want... With Steve and DAve we go for a Chinese dinner and they also tell us more about the Sanctuary church.
Dave goes with us for a small non-tourist round trip around LA a View point and the Redondo pier. And then we stop at the Beachhouse: the guys are allowed to stay and sleep there... the whole walls were full of "art" and now there is some from us too...but I can't stay with the guys in the guy house, so in the evening I get moved to an apartment with SArah - in the 1.5 rooms we had beds and coaches and altogether we were 6 girls and 2 cats.

August 10
after sleeping in we go to the Manhatten beach - we go in one of the largest Malls in LA - and this evening we attend one of the services of the Sanctuary - lots of praise - some bible lessons and we meet a lot of cool people - and the evening we sit and talk.



But we discover we missed a concert and a wedding...
