Yet another early morning. But the mountain is calling ;) Today we hiked up the steep mountain to the most famous symbol of Bhutan, Takstang Dzong. Better known as "Tiger's Nest". The old monastery is spectacularly built onto a massive cliff. Although the amazing photos don't come without some leg work ;) But Kesang and I managed to get up there in 2 hours 15 min instead of the estimated 2 hours and 45 min. Quite a workout but totally worth the views and a nice test for the Nepalese trekking trip to come. In the afternoon we strolled through town because the scheduled visit of the National Museum was cancelled due to another national holiday. Happy to have had the opportunity to see the "Land of the Thunder Dragon" but sad that it was only for a week. Bhutanese people are one of the most sincere you will ever meet.

Wieder mal ein Tag fuer Fruehaufsteher . Aber der Berg ruft! Heute wanderten wir den steilen Pfad hoch zum beruehmten Aushaengeschild von Bhutan, Takstang Dzong. Besser bekannt als "Tiger's Nest". Das alte Kloster sitzt spektakulaer auf einem Felsvorsprung an einer Bergwand. Allerdings kommt man ohne Beinarbeit nicht an die gewuenschten Postkartenmotive ;) Aber Kesang und ich schafften den Trek in 2 Std 15 Min anstatt der ausgeschriebenen 2 Std 45 Min. Eine ziemliche Anstrengung, aber die Aussicht war es wert. Und ausserdem ein gutes Training fuer die anstehende Trekkingtour in Nepal. Am Nachmittag spazierten wir noch durch Paro's Geschaefte weil das Nationalmuseum leider wegen Feiertag geschlossen war. Ich bin gluecklich, dass ich das "Land des Donnerdrachen" sehen konnte aber ein wenig traurig dass es nur fuer eine Woche war. Bhutaner sind mit die liebenswuerdigsten Menschen die man je in seinem Leben treffen wird.
