Unfortunately my seven days in Bhutan are over :( My guide Kensang and driver Rinzy took me to the airport and we said goodbye. I was very lucky that they were assigned to my trip. Then followed the fastest check-in of my life. Got through security, check in, immigration in 2:15 Min!!! And broke my old record from Darwin Airport :)
The flight from Paro to Kathmandu was like being in an IMAX movie . Under blue skies we flew along the Himalaya mountain range with magnifiscent views from our TurboProp plane.
Arrived in Kathmandu and was told by the hotel shuttle driver that they screwed up my reservation and the hotel is booked out. So he offered as alternative the Pilgrim Hotel in Thamel. Checked in and explored the neighborhood. The stinky, loud and crowded city is quite the culture shock coming from peaceful Bhutan.

Leider sind meine sieben Tage in Bhutan vorbei. Meine Reisefuehrerin Kensang und mein Fahrer Rinzy fuhren mich zum Flughafen, wo wir uns verabschiedeten. Ich hatte viel Glueck, dass die beiden auf meine Tour gebucht waren. Dann folgte der schnellste Check-in meines Lebens. Durch die Sicherheitsschleuse, den Check-in und die Passkontrolle in 2:15 Min!!! Und brach meinen alten Rekord am Darwin Flughafen :)
Der Flug von Paro nach Kathmandu war als waere man in einem IMAX Film. Unter blauem Himmel flogen wir entlang des Himalaja Gebirges mit atemberaubender Aussicht aid unserer Turbo Prop Maschine.
Bei meiner Ankunft erzaehlte mir der Hotelbusfahrer dass sie trots Reservierung ausgebucht seien und bot mir als Alternative das Pilgrims Hotel in Thamel an. Checkte ein und schaute mir das Stadtviertel an. Die nach Abgas riechende, laute und ueberfuellte Stadt ist ein ziemlicher Kulturschock im Vergleich zum friedvollen Bhutan.
