Took the Metro to central Delhi with its impressive government buildings and the India Gate. By the way, a ride in the Metro is an experience in itself. The "people shuffle" is incredible! And the subway no place for claustrophobics. Then I walked towards the shopping district Connaught Place, a gigantic circular square if you will ;) On the way I came by a big mosque where Muslims celebrated a holiday and hundreds of street vendors selling mostly unidentifiable food. At the central Place happened to be a big music and performance festival too. It felt like the whole city gathered there. But more likely it was just another ordinary Sunday in Delhi ;)

Nahm die U-Bahn zum Stadtzentrum mit seinen beeindruckenden Regierungsgebaeuden und dem grossen Indien Tor . Uebrigens, eine Fahrt mit der Metro ist eine ganz eigene Erfahrung. Das Menschengewimmel ist unfassbar! Und diese U-Bahn kein Ort fuer Klaustrophobiker. Dann wanderte ich Richtung Einkaufs-"Meile" Connaught Place, ein gigantischer runder Platz mit vielen Ausfallstrassen voller Geschaefte. Unterwegs kam ich an einer grossen Moschee vorbei, wo Muslime gerade einen Feiertag zelebrierten und hunderten von Strassenhaendlern und mobilen Imbissstaenden mit unidentifizierbaren Speisen. Auf dem grossen Platz fand ausserdem ein riesiges Musikfestival statt. Es fuehlte sich an als wenn die ganze Stadt sich dort versammelte. Aber wahrscheinlich war es nur ein ganz normaler Sonntagabend in Delhi ;)
