Busy last few days in Kamloops, back from the Lake with Lynne then drinks and Appies at Pennys with the girls and Max the Dog.
Sunday we took a drive out to Savona for a trailor Park breakfast with Pennys family who were camping out by the lake .. Big effort to cook for so many people on a Trailer stovetop ..but well done Mike. Sunday afternoon took a hike up Mount Dufferin with Lynne, nearly bloody killed me, I am so unfit compared to when I was here last...took a few photos of Kamloops from the top, then on the way down took a spill and twisted my ankle and grazed my knee !! S had to hobble all the way down . Stayed up at Lynne & Mikes on Sunday night then off to the Greyhound for my trip to Vancouver, I quite like the road trip, it takes arouns 5 hours on the bus and the drive is quite scenic once you get past Merritt. My big Keith Urban picture is still there and Tim McGraw.. the bus stops at merritt, Chilliwack, Abbottsfield, Langley and Coquitlam before pulling into Pacific Station. All the Market gardens around Chilliwack & Hope are beautiful and green.. The last of the snow is finally melting with the heat they have had.
$7 cab fare to the Kingston hotel, I gave the taxi driver a $5 tip as it was such a short fare and he was very excited as he said Australians dont normally tip !!!
The Hotel is on Richards Street and (1 block closer to the shops from the Rosedale Kathryn) in all about a 5 min walk from the main shopping centre . Pretty good location. The Kingston is a Bed & Breakfast and @ $80 per night very cheap for Vancouver, those of you who have ever stayed at the Victoria Hotel in Melbourne..it is the same as that.. The room comes fully loaded with dressing gown , slippers all the soaps etc you can wish for and there is only a basin in the room... Shower & toilet are down the hall... I did have a tiny laugh as I imagined what my sister Kathryns comments would have been. I did know this prior..so all is good in the world. So I have been down the street and had food I am trying to stay out of the shops as I have already sent 2 parcels home ...its dreadful as everything is on sale !!
Anyway I have a 4am start tomorrow to catch the bus down to Seattle then train Seattle to Sanfrancisco Woo Hoo look out America it begins..
