Kickin back in Venice

Los Angeles, California, United States
I have no idea what day it is but the date is the 25th July...The days are just melting into each other... Yesterday we went on a VIP day tour of LA, it was really good. The drivers were fantastic...Quote of the day went to the Denzel Washington look a like...he pulled in behind a Council bus at a Give way sign and when the bus just lingered..He said " For Christ sake man, it says Give Way not Give UP ! ) It was very funny at the time. Anyway we got a good driver named Jack and we went everywhere, dont ask me to remember everything because I dont, we did see the Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive, Beverley Hills, West Hollywood, Downtown Hollywood, Bel Air, Farmers Market, Venice Beach and Santa Monica too name a few. I did learn something...there are so many Mexicans in LA because it used to belong to Mexico...There you go I actually got educated without meaning to.. We were also told if we wanted to spot Movie Stars to go to 3rd Ave The Prominade in Santa Monica as thats where they all hang out...but we went there today and there are just so many beautiful people you have no idea if they are famous or not !!!! I actually thought I saw Cameron Diaz but honestly it could have been and probably was just anybody !!
Today we walked down through Venice Beach to Santa Monica Pier ..then some shopping on the Promenade..I purchased an electric kettle so I can make a cup of tea without using the Coffee machine and have it taste like coffee.. It has paid off already as I had the nicest cuppa ever when we got home.
We saw some wonderful sights along through Venice Beach...There are sooooo many Bums and young dope addict bludgers that its hard to have any sympathy for them as they are just lazy..too lazy to work.. They beg and offer all kinds of lame services for a buck, like..read Poetry, offer shit advice, smile, share a picture and the list goes on, some sell paintings that they have obviously done when they are stoned out of their brain...it makes me wonder how they survive to keep there drug supply up.. We passed one guy this morning heading down to the Pier he was fine, collecting empty cans & bottles....when we came home this afternoon he was flaked out beside a bin with his cart beside him full of the empty cans & bottles..Its hard to work out if they are dead or alive, stoned or asleep ..I am just happy that its not one of mine.
We stopped at a bar tonight on the way home ..The Venice Beach Bar & Grill, it was really good. Had a few drinks and Appies chatted with the barman...the bar had an amazing collection of Rock music photographic memorabillia, it was fun trying to work out who all the photos were...good fun.. Leaving LA tomorrow and heading to Vegas...Have set the GPS in anticipation to avoid any arguments tomorrow
Almost forgot...we survived an Earthquake in LA !!!!! Yesterday the tour guide was rattling on about LA having earthquakes every day...most unfelt as they are weak ones ..Sooo last night I wake up with the bed moving and I was thinking I was dreaming because the Guide had harped on about them yesterday....But turn on the TV and there it was ..Epi centre was Marina del Ray and wher are we Marina Del ray 3.4 on the Richter scale....
