Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
We rolled into town yesterday..Thursday after a good trip from LA. Our Girlfriend (in the GPS) did an awesome job jumping us from Freeway to Freeway so we had a pretty smooth run out of Dodge . The trip was sooooo different from Canada where its so green, The Mojave was just dirt and tumbleweeds and mountains...we were on the lookout for Indians riding over them there hills !
We pulled into Harrahs and joined the 40min line up to check in ........got our room and a free roller bed and the room it big....I must say the accommodations have improved as we have gone along. Here there is Zero room facilities as they like you down stairs in the Casino...We had purchased an electric kettle in LA and we now have a bag of Kitchen stuff which is getting an absolute work out.
Jo & I returned the car to Treasure Island Casino which we did rather well I say..we made it with 30 mins to spare before the office shut..Everyone here in the States is very helpful with directions etc...

Took a walk after a Chinese/Thai/Japanese meal down stairs...The further we got along the more crowded it got...Jo & Peter booked a Helicopter flight out to the Grand Canyon and the Skywalk.. they got a good deal too.. we called into the Paris Casino and MGM but was crestfallen to find No Lions in MGM...where they were, they have construction going on..went into New York New York another nice Casino...walking back the other side there is more changes ...all the new VIP stores that were being built last time I was here, are all finished now and looking fantastic with their fancy architecture... Went to the Piano Bar back in Harrahs where they used to have "The Duelling Pianos" still the same but with a man & woman doing it this time...the place filled out in no time when they started as they are very entertaining, a crowd from Ohio was also entertaining..Fun place.

102 degrees today..so a bit warm . Jo & Peter did there Helicopter flight and skywalk and said it was amazing..took another 1000 photos...Had their photo taken on the Skywalk, rather brave I thought..I dont do Helicopters as they make me sick :(
We did the lunch Buffet today...OMG !!! totally amazing, the Baine went for nearly a kilometre, including a 100 mtr dessert bar..( just slight exageration, but it was huge)...I thought I was in heaven with Chicken fried steak, Southern fried chicken, Fries, Stuffed Clams, Pizza, Chinese, Gumbo Prawns and just way too many to list, the dessert bar was different again but far too many things to write down, we tried as many as we could. $20....add $9.99 for unlimited Beer & wine..We could have had our whole holiday right there in the Buffet !! Mind you we havent had anything else to eat all day..

Tonight we went to the "Ledgends" Show, starring Elvis & Michael Jackson who were both totally awesome, also the Blues Bros , Tina Turner & Justin Timberlake..Great show, we sat with 3 women from Bakerfield so had fun chatting with them . Tucked up in bed now and Peter is watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics..Like watching Grass grow I say..Jo has just come in after winning $130 on the Roulette tables..Good Day.
