Georgetown, South Carolina, United States
Awesome rooms tonight in Downtown Georgetown South Carolina...When travelling with 3 adults who dont sleep together, its very difficult booking accommodation.. We have had 2 double beds and a Rollaway bed , Queen beds and Rollaway bed, King beds and rollaway beds and tonight is special because we have 2 rooms, 1 with a King bed & a Rollaway bed and in the other room we have a Sofa bed. 2 Toilets and a bathroom..So we are living like kings and enjoying it while we can.
This morning we left Greenwood and drove to McCormick ,just to get some extra photos of the places we missed yesterday . It rained most of the day so we just kept driving to Georgetown.. We keep coming across churches with 3 crosses and were wondering what they meant...so if anyone out there knows what they represent..We were thinking KKK but as they are in church yards I doubt thats correct.
At one of the stops Jo finally bought herself a Moon pie..These little specialties originate in Chattanooga and I had been at both Peter & Jo to try one..as we are trying to eat as many local specialties as we can...Jo came out of the Servo with a Banana Moon pie ..pack of two, one for Peter as well (very caring of her) One bite later and it was all in the bin..hahaha A moon pie is two round flat sponge like biscuits filled with like a mock cream..Disgusting ! Like most of the American cakes We have had.
Georgetown is on an inlet and the streets are tree lined and the houses are amazing..not overly huge but beautiful just the same. The main street isnt big but very quaint. We were told it was a small scale Charlestown, cheaper and less tourists. its nice but I am looking forward to tomorrow and Charlestown..I will be on the lookout for Clark Gable...or a lookalike at least.
