Halifax 2:    What a cracker Day it has been today. Got of to a crap start with someones car horn going on and off at the campground at 0630, so I decided to get up and go and shower as the campground was full and there was only 2 showers up our end and they were crap, so I took off at a sprint up to the big ones at the main gate only to find the toilets were all blocked and none of the 4 showers worked either.. getting desperate to unload I took a mad dash back down to our end and found a line up on one shower so I went to the otherside and found a broken shower head..so now the whole Park was reduced to 1 shower.. I was so desperate by this stage I took the broken shower.. I sort of got it going with a few squirty leaks but by then I was past caring. I rushed back to get Kaff on the go before the queue got worse & thankfully we made it through. I hate to start a day without a shower. I might have a sook and see if they refund us..lol
Anyway after breakfast we were off and decided to hot Peggy Cove first as it was Sunday and not too much Traffic about . Good decision too as we got there before the rush. Peggy Cove Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in Canada and now we know why, It was photographers heaven.. The location was amazing and its all set up for pictures, you can see for yourself anyway when you look at the photos.
We spent ages there and we got some mementos to take home too. Once again we decided to take the coast road..it takes so much longer but the vistas along the way were just amazing. We were heading for Lunenburg which was an old Ship Building town and this is South of Halifax.
What a glorious drive, we had been waiting for the Nova Scotia WOW moment and we certainly found it today. The town before Lunenburg was Mahone Bay, it was also a place similar to Lunnenburg...full of old houses, beautifully painted all colours. It was a bit busy there today as they had a market on in the town square.
Arriving in Lunnenburg was a bit of an eye popper. It must have been a real hive of industry in its day with the ship building and then all the supporting businesses .."The Bounty" was made here. All the buildings have been maintained and it was just block after block of magnificent houses, some dated as early as 1675 which is older than Australia. Our little heads were doing a Linda Blair and spinning round and round.
We lunched at the Pier overlooking the Harbour I again had a Lobster roll which was good, I am sure going to miss the Lobster when we leave here.
After Lunch we drove down to a pretty little harbour called Blue Rocks Point. By then the weather had started to turn so we headed home..Kaff once again directing us back. We decided to camp at Tim Hortons again before going to the Campground as the wifi works good here. Awesome day, heading to Amhurst tomorrow.
