Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada
Whitehorse Yukon 28 Aug 14 Thursday:

Well my calendar is totally out of whack ! I think I have had the 28th for the last 3 days anyway .. and when I checked into the Hi Country RV Park here in Whitehorse the bloke didn't have our booking, I am saying are you sure ? better double check as you confirmed by email...anyways on checking he had us arriving tomorrow night !!! We are one day ahead of schedule ! No wonder we have been driving so much , we clean forgot to stay in Fort Nelson.Just had lunch there instead..I had made bookings for all the 2 or more nights, but the single nights we would free camp or find somewhere and we ended up with the last 3 nights free camping but we only did 2.
Anyways we now have a day up our sleeve, so it should work out.

We left Liard River this morning at 0800, we filled up with gas @ $1.69 ltr, said goodbye to "Fred" the massive Bison roaming at the front of the Lodge and hit the road. We had a couple of photo stops along the way and pulled into Watsons Lake about 1115. On coming into the town we passed Police, Ambo's & a Fire engines roaring down the road, we wondered if someone had hit a bison or if there was trouble in the First Nation place we passed ? . Today we were driving around 800 klms so Watsons Lake stop was just to see the Sign Post Forest. What a cracker that was. I looked and looked and finally found a couple from Australia, just a shame the White Lane people couldn't even spell Australia !   I had a chat to a bloke outside the signs, he picked our accent..as he walked away I noticed he had a Hook for a hand.

Our Lunchstop today was at Rancheria which was a Petrol pump with a restaurant and not much else. The Lunch special was a Cheese with grilled onion ? I am guessing it was a sandwich ?? but we had ours in the Van. Toasted ham & Cheese. We topped up with gas again and then Kaff drove through to Whitehorse. The countryside was pretty much the same today all day just road and trees road and trees.   Some of the trees are turning more orange than yellow so its quite pretty, I guess the Fall colours will be all starting from here on. Just a tiny bit of snow on some of the higher mountains, hopefully that will hold off until we leave.
Still sorting out tomorrows timetable but we are here for a few nights.
