Teslin Yukon Tuesday: Not a great deal to report as we have just been driving solid 8 hrs for the past 2 days. We left Beaver Creek and of course had forgotten to put our watches forward, so all day we were ahead of ourselves if that makes sense. The countryside was changing all the time, we fuelled up in Tok and ran into some Aussies in a vintage RV. They were from Yandina..its just amazing the people you meet at a Petrol pump, so many people travelling and not small distances either, one bloke who was from Trappers Creek near Denali was heading down to Utah just by himself...getting out of Alaska's winter (Like that makes sense...doesnt it snow hard in Utah )... Cruising right along we pulled into Haines Junction thinking big but once again getting small, no Tim Hortons here. We got some average food    at a diner at the cross roads. Over the road from the diner was a really tiny Catholic church, we had also seen one of these small churches at Beaver Creek. Turns out they are the left over buildings from the US Army when they were building the Highways. They are quite unique as when they were first converted the Preacher lived in the back half and preached in the front half. We were invited inside to take a look by a local and got some of the story of them.
Pushing off from Haines Junction we drove on through Whitehorse and ended the day by stopping in Teslin . It was a beautiful day for driving, sun blazing clear blue skies and full on Fall colours. The only wildlife we saw was a Chipmonk and a porcupine.
Bell BC Wednesday: Todays drive has been much the same, we got to Nuggets Crossroads which is just before Watsons Lake as we wanted to drive down the Cassiar Hwy, but needed to check on the road conditions and also Gas options as these roadhouses just close come winter so its random who is open, so off we went and the road was quite rough going for the first hour or so, we ended up stopping at Jade City for lunch. We got talking to Andy in the Cafe there and he closes in 2 weeks. They have a big Jade mine there owned he thought by the family that hired him. The population in summer is about 60 and in winter drops to about 40. He feeds their workers which is about 8 to 10, 3 meals a day and then he cooks for the travellers that pass through like us. We saw signs to say that they were doing random filming up until October so we found out the discovery Channel is filming a story on the family and the Jade mining ...Andy the cook has also been filmed, so I will have to look out for that show when I get home.
Back in Rocky the RV we kept on driving, we saw a helicopter rigging up those huge Power Lines..He had blokes hanging off the big Pylons and he was dangling stuff from the chopper. I dont think I would want that job. We saw also a Black Bear beside the road, but it skittered off so I ended up with a butt shot again.
Tonight we have pulled into Bell. Not sure if its a town or just a Lodge. We were just happy to find a place to stop. When we pulled into our slot we didnt have the 15 Amp power adapter so the Bloke next to us in a huge rig gave us one of his. Mighty neighbourly of I say. Turns out he and his southern belle wife are from Palestine Texas and were in Skagway when he took ill and got Medivaced to Juneau by air. He was in Hospital for 2 weeks and she was stick in the rig in Skagway with the 3 cats !!! They ended up having to call family up to help him drive home to Texas...Moral to that story....Dont travel with your 3 cats .
So we are tucked up here in Bell for the night, we have been told their is a young Black Bear wandering around unable to feed itself so is scavenging the bins...I might just stay in the RV tonight. Kaff has gone over to the Lodge for coffee and I have forgotten to tell her its about..I hope she makes it home...

Prince George Thursday :   Rough start to the day with Kaff jumping around the RV and nearly bouncing me out of bed...a mouse again. It was 0545 and god only knows how long she had been awake listening to it !! I wear ear plugs so I heard not a thing .. I secretly think she is doing Magic mushrooms and Hallucinating...lol
Anyway we took off from Bell2 at around 0900 and drove through to Old Hazelton. We couldn't remember going there before but as we got deeper into the town we realised we had on our journey around BC. There is a lot of First Nation heritage here. They have an awesome bridge to cross and it only one car wide so its give way to the first vehicle. Kaff went for a walk across but even she said it was scary . The side rails were only waist high. Next stop was Smithers..Kaff was hanging out for Tim Hortons and thankfully they had one. It was good to get some descent clean food as the last couple of Diners were a bit dodgy.  The staff were nice and we chatted with the manager for a bit.
Back on the road we pushed on through to Prince George. We didn't get in until after 1830 but managed to find an RV joint on the Loops side of town. We are right next to the Washrooms & Laundry so first job was washing as we were running out of everything.  The internet is a bit hit and miss but better than none. We have rung our RV stop in Kamloops and booked in tomorrow night and we will sort our destination out from there as we have a full week up our sleeve. Its rained intermittently all day and here in Prince George it has been raining steadily since we arrived. I told Kaff the rain on the roof should drown out any mice noises she hears.
