Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Vancouver Sunday: Well the time has come the Walrus said !................ We have had a busy few last days to our trip. A final catchup & goodbye to our Kamloopian friends. See you girls in Australia sometime soon.
We drove down the Coquihalla Hwy stopping in Hope to check if the Salmon were running there yet , but alas they are still not there . So onwards to Vancouver. Dropped kaff off at our Hotel Moda on Seymour Street, then I continued on and dropped the car at Thrifty. No more driving on the other side of the road. Lets hope I remember what side I should be on when I get home.
Our last two days in Vancouver were spent going in different directions. Yesterday I walked across the Granville Bridge and down to Granville Island. There were a lot of Homeless folk along Granville Street, not as many as we saw on West Pender though. It is quite a problem here in Vancouver as the homeless from all over tend to head here for the winter as it doesn't get as cold. A bit scarey for a tourist though.
Granville Island hadn't changed from when I was there last lots of fresh fruits and Veggies, plenty of Pumpkins ready for Halloween. I took one of the small boats and went along the inlet. It was a nice view of the city from the water. I got to see all the flash boats...I have decided that some people have a heck of a lot of money. I got dropped off on the city side and made my way up to the Movies on Burrard Street . I saw "Gone Girl"  quite a good movie except for the finish. I wont give the story away though.
Today after a quick breakfast at Tims I went for a walk around the West end area and along English Bay. Its quite a trendy part of town. I walked back along Coal Bay and the Marina then onto Canada Place. Its a beautiful city when its not raining. Back in town I went to the movies again and saw "The Judge"  quite enjoyed it. I think Robert Downey Jnr could be my new favourite actor.
So now we are sitting at the airport waiting our 2345hr flight...Hopefully I will be able to sleep for some of the 15 hour flight to Sydney. We lose Monday totally somewhere across the Pacific and get in on Tuesday morning.. tucked into my big girls bed tomorrow night.
And that's all folks, Hasta La Vista Baby
