Early start today after a late night.. headed out to the Taj Mahal at 0730 hrs all very tired, it was touch and go as it whether we would see it or not as sometimes it mists over.. We got tuk Turks from the front gate then walked down to the entry and lined up.. females to the left, males to the right.. we waited for 20 min before the gates opened then we had to get our ticket and passports checked before going through security checking which took ages.. So by the time we got in then had a story from Veshel ..the sun had already come up..Darn it... At the security we watched the monkeys dumpster diving to collect the food that security had taken out of people's bags.. they were having a real feast, funny to watch and they would certainly never starve..
 What can one say about the Taj Mahal ??? The symetry of it is just stunning .. it has this wonderful aura of tranquility about it I think..very impressive..even with scaffolding over one of the Minets.... One inside it was a little disappointing as there's 3 crypts..that's it !!! Such a magnificent building containing just that..hmmmmm... So I went back outside and just enjoyed the beautifulness of the grounds and the buildings... There was a lot of smog about and also smoke so we were lucky we got to see it at all, I asked Veshel about the smoke and he said it came from the Crematorium nearby !!! Holy crap I have been sniffing up dead people..Christ almighty I then wound my scarf around my face before I sniffed up too many dead people ! Gross.. took a bit of the shine off my visit..
On departing we were actually chased down by the hawkers..they ran after the tuk tuks.. I caved in and bought a magnet for the fridge..
We went back to the hotel for a late breakfast before heading out to a Marble place , the only thing I liked was A$10,000 so it stayed on the shelf.. next stop was the Red Fort.. this would have been interesting if Veshel hadn't waffles for so long.. it was like Four forts in one and once again in good nick.. We could see the Taj rom the rooftop.
Lunchafterwards was a vegetarian affair who's Wasn't so good.. the ice cream after was the best..
Back at the hotel now and have the rest of the afternoon off free.. They have a Traditional night on tonight but after the last one I will be resting up for tomorrow's drive..we have another safari next.
My son in law David had a bet with me about how long until I surcumbed to Delhi belly..7 Days David.. So my dinner tonight will be Imodium as we have a 6 hr bus ride tomorrow.. clenching my butt cheeks all the way...wish me luck...
