Big travel day today and the camera hasn't come out of the bag... 
We had our farewell dinner last night as we split into two groups today . The Poms, the Scots, the Yummy Mummies and the Sisters have headed back to Delhi to start their journey home. They were the lucky ones as they got to sleep in and leave mid morning..We last 16 had to be up at 0400hrs bags put at 0430hrs and one the bus with a packed breakfast at 0500hrs.. !
Peter couldn't sleep because the fan was making a noise in our new shitty room.. So he was awake, so I was awake... so we both had our cranky pants on today...Our packed breakfast consisted of 2 cheese sandwiches, an egg, a popper & a bag of chips.. So most of us didn't have any of it. We were right on time flying to Mumbai but as usual the landing was horrendous..the pilots here are maniacs ,they are landing at full speed, how we haven't flipped I don't know.
Mumbai airport is huge and really modern, we got to our Air India terminal at about 0900hrs then we couldn't check our luggage until 1130hrs so we put all the luggage together and took turns at watching it..Once we checked in we went through security, girls to the right with massive cues and men to the left with barely a line up .. We watched the locals and the women give all their carryone luggage to the men to go through then they just jump in the X-ray line..the rest of us had to form a line to put your hand luggage through the machine, then line up in the other line that takes you through that security doorway, then into a curtained cubical to get a pat down..Then you have to get you boarding pass stamped along with your tags on you hand luggage.. bloody incredible ! Anyway by the time we all got through security it was lunchtime and they actually had a beaut food court .. We all went a little crazy.. They had Subway, KFC and Burger King.. We did KFC, the men did Burger King but you can only get lamb burgers as the cows are next to god and can't be eaten...
It was a leisurely lunch and before we New it we were on our next flight..It was only a short one, thankfully as I had to swap seat with Peter as he got a middle seat and I had an Aisle seat..He owes me big time as I had to sit with Lynette who hardly speaks to anyone, has a bad hip and two bad knees and walks with a lean...I might call her leaning Lynette..Anyway she spoke about 2 words to me...We had another mad landing and thankfully no one was hurt..lol
Our hotel tonight and tomorrow night is the Ambassador Hotel and it's a pretty tired old thing..There is a Statue of Liberty outside on the Median strip but don't be misled, we are Definately NOT in New York.. We have free wifi and it even works in the room which is a plus, the TV man has been up to show me how the TV works, Peter had been down to the bar and we are resting until dinner time..all is good in the world.
