Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India
Another day of hunting for knives and Jam at breakfast, then it was off on the bus for another days sightseeing. Today we headed out of town for about an hour and arrived at the Eldorado Caves. These caves are another UNESCO site. There are 34 rock cut shrines representing Buddhist, Hindu and Jain art from the 4th till the 9th century so not quite as old as yesterday's.
There was one main Kailash Temple and it was massive .. also at the caves were 500 small school children, apparently it is a holy day tomorrow for maybe it was Lord Shivas ? Not too sure on that fact.. we had the same guide as yesterday who mumbles and his accent is so strong I am sure he works for Telstra.
These kids were so excited to see us I think I said hello to about 450 of them, Next they wanted photos of us with the kids and then that started a run of Indian women wanting their photos with us.. I now have a better understanding of what it's like for them when we take pictures of them.
Anyway it was fun and the caves were semi interesting..
We were back on the bus after midday and we got to the outskirts of Aurangabad and the driver pulls over, he has lost one of his brakes and doesn't want to continue into the city so we waited about 30 minutes for a new bus to come.
At the hotel we actually had a nice lunch, they had some more salads and also Tomato Macaroni and some nice battered fish bits.. They also had the standard curries which I just bypass totally when there's something better on offer .
So there I was at lunch making a cup of tea, the kettles were turned on and I was waiting for it to boil...A man comes up and says tea ready...I said no just waiting for the water to boil, he says water boil and turns the kettle off and says again water boil finish... so there it was I ended up with a Luke warm cup of tea.. Sometimes I feel like screaming but then I shake myself and say a grateful prayer that I am only here temporarily...
This afternoon we are off to the airport to fly to Mumbai formerly known as Bombay. We only have one night there before heading south again...Today's flight and tomorrow nights flight are both 15 kilos, we are all struggling with the weight limitations.. I am just going to carry cash and pay for the excess it's only $5 A a kilo..

Getting our photo taken with the locals by them always makes me giggle. I can understand it if we were young and gorgeous but we aren't in that boat.
