Singapore, Singapore
Yesterday was a pretty easy day, we took off in the morning and went into Trivandrum, checked out a Hindu Temple where the men had to wear their traditional skirt and no shirts and the women had to wear Sari, they had changing stalls by the entry so you could hire the right stuff then they had Keeping places to mind your gear..We were not allowed to go in.
Next to the Temple was the Maharajas Palace which we took a wander through, that was interesting as it had secret passageways for the Maharaja to visit the temple and it also had little windows the Maharanas could watch the common folk without being seen ..
Next stop was a museum which took about 5 minutes to walk through, then an art gallery with not very good art, then the gardens which were OK. We saw the Canonball tree and a really tall palm tree with a Banyon tree growing around it.. That was pretty neat.
Back at the hotel for lunch then as my cold had set in it was off to bed for the afternoon before leaving the hotel at 1800hrs for a farewell dinner with everyone. We were leaving one couple behind as they have another week of train journeys... Dinner was fine more of the same curry crap..dessert was way better.
On the trip to the airport Agi said make sure you all have your ticket and passport.. Next thing Peter says, I can't find my passport !
Well I looked in his backpack..not there, he said maybe it's in my case... Anyway he went and told Agi and he was calling the hotel, no they couldn't find it.. So by this time we had arrived at the airport, everyone else had to go and checkin, meanwhile Agi was on the phone to the hotel again and again, all the time trying to reassure us that things would be fine .. We searched Peters suitcase outside on the footpath..no couldn't find it, Agi rang the hotel again..on and on this went..In the end I gave him my US dollars and some Australian dollars as his cash was all in his money pouch with his passport..as a last resort they went and rechecked the bus and they found it tucked between the seats..He had rummaged through his backpack trying to find his camera on the way to dinner and it must have fallen out then..I was feeling like vomiting so I don't know what he was feeling like. Thankfully it had a happy ending, Agi and the Drivers were all happy for him that's for sure..
The flight was only 41/2 hrs to Singapore , we had a big goodbye to the rest of the tour as they were all heading for the transit lounge , there is 6 of us staying in Singapore for the two nights.. As we arrived early we are waiting till 0900hrs to check in..I can see it being a very long day.

Know how you feel. My friend left his in the hotel room so it had to be found and then delivered by taxi using our very basic Indonesian.
