If heaven has a fragrance.......

Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
After 12 hours of sleep we feel much better! The canal this morning is empty of traffic and glass smooth. We head to the trains to get to the airport to catch the bus to the gardens. It took a few stops at the info desks, but we made it. It was 73 and sunny today. We are over dressed! As we watch the bicyclers some are dressed in there Sunday go to meetin' clothes. Amazing how the women can ride in short skirts decently!
We are heading to Keukenhof gardens . The tulips are 98% gone! but the gardens are still amazing! You just had to be there. Pavilions contained different types of flowers. When we got to all the cut lilies I thought that if heaven had a fragrance this might be it! I really can not imagine this places if all the tulip beds were blooming. will try to include photos, but I had to add yesterday's one at a time. Ed's pedometer had 5 1/2 miles on it! He did some more than us.
All the Dutch foods we were looking for were at the gardens. We got stroopwafels! They are very thin waffles with caramel in between severed warm!!! They are sold in the cookie aisle some places.
We caught the bus and train and were back here for a rest before dinner. We walked around and finally found a Brazilian place that €10 specials. That is cheap eats here. It was good. Ed and I had skewers of steak, Susan had a large chicken breast with fries and salad. They even gave us water in glasses. Usually here they only sell bottled water. No refills on drinks we hear. They did charge for the bread and steak sauce .
Every block here has a bakery. Most have "coffee" houses. That is not for drinking coffee. They serve marijuana. I suppose Colorado wants to be like this!
After dinner Ed found some English channels on tv!
the traffic is not so heavy on the canal tonight. You never know what you will see. We saw a female gondolier and a police boat tonight! The first police we have seen since arriving.
The mosquitoes rival those in Alaska, huge.
There are 16 hours of daylight here.
i will try to upload photos. If the grammar is poor, my excuse is that I am in a hurry. Just figure it out on your own.
So many pictures are taken of the houseboat that Ed says we will be in vacation photos around the world.
Tomorrow is Susan's big day.

Good grief! If the flowers are even more beautiful at another time if year I don't know how you could stand it! What a beautiful day...and the icing on the cake was seeing Ed's feet doing the two-step as he filmed the machine playing the music! Keep your day job sir!! Keep having fun, and keep the blogs coming!
