WednesdayWe left the houseboat after a night rain to get to the ship. It was a nice morning so Ed planned the route for us to walk instead of getting the tram. It was about 1.2 miles. Dragging luggage is more difficult, but we made it with a few rest stops. We came across an old couple from Texas who had taken the train in and were walking. They each had a small rolling bag. Surely if a couple that must have been in their eighties could do it, we could! Susan was a little weary, but we had an easy embarkation. We never had to 'sit in chairs' as we usually do. The line was short and they were letting people board as soon as we got through. We did have to wait for lunch and wait for our room to be ready. We have a nice cabin. Our stewart is a giant Spanish speaking fellow. This was his first day on the Constellation. He has been with the company 23 years! We went to the Cruise Critic get together after the lifeboat drill. We met some folks we have been sharing with on our roll call about the cruise. We have made sightseeing tour arrangements with some during the trip. When we went to our dinner table for 9 we were seated with the couple we are sharing a cab with at the end of the cruise. There is also a couple from Houston at our table . The other 2 chairs have yet to be occupied. We had prime rib and Susan had pasta. The welcome aboard show was not until after 10 o'clock so skipped going. I am not sleeping well.

In regard to your comment on the older couple you met that made you stop complaining...that reminds us of two (much older than us) schoolteachers we met on our first tour of Alaska. Certain ones of us were getting a titch cranky with the early morning suitcase outside the door and on the bus days. Each day the two ladies would be there before us with smiles on their faces ready to roll. Makes you feel ashamed of yourselves!
