Westward to Winnebago we go

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, United States
Susan slept well since she was tired from sleeping in the car? What? Oh well.
The dells is a beautiful resort area. It must be packed in season. We head west across I 90. The lilacs are in full bloom on huge tree like shrubs! Dirt is brown to black and freshly planted with fields already showing the life cycle of death to life. We see cranberry bogs too. Some highways are marked by letters rather than numbers, like hwy. HH. Gas is about 2.59 along here. We arrive in Minneapolis around noon. I have seen so many Culvers signs that I feel a craving for a butter burger. Since I have not been eating much solid food this is a risk, but one I take. My tongue is so sore and raw from the antibiotics that we stop at walgreens to get a remedy. THAT IS WHEN IT HAPPENED! The car would not start. Since Ed now has a heart condition I assumed he would have a heart attack. BUT, the maintainence man in him kicked in and he opened and closed the gas cap(probably a vapor lock). The car started and we quickly drove to the car return lot!
The guy at the car lot told us about a shuttle to the transportation area. An angel took us directly to this difficult to find area, especially carrying everything but the kitchen sink. We arrive at three and were able to get a seat!!! This is a small area and three bus loads of people are gathering to be taken to Winnebago. We are on bus 3 and must wait until 6 for a ride to Iowa. What an interesting group are gathering. It would take a long time to repeat some of their stories. We were in a seat across from two couples from Farragut, tn. When Our driver arrived, I figured that must have called him out of retirement for this run. He was old! We arrive at the campground before dark. Yeah! We were given the wrong directions to our RV so we schlepped our luggage all over the fairgrounds in ankle high wet grass. Heart attack flashed before my eyes and chest! Once we found the stupid unit we unpacked quickly, stowing our possessions in the ample storage. We laid down on the new rock hard foam mattresses. How could foam feel like a concrete slab covered with a sheet? We slept well considering how tired we were. Too tired and dry camping with no Internet, so no news now.
tomorrow is another day.

Alright, enough with the stress already . Good thing Ed is such a laid back guy.. The Dells used to be full of roadside chenile bedspread stands back in the'50's.
Glad you finally found your MoHome, sorry it didn't have a Sleep Number bed, lol.
Be safe, have fun and have another "Butter Burger"...

Hey you all...John and I grew up in the Knoxville area and lived in Farragut for over 30 years before we moved to DWLP!! Small world. What are the couple's names? Maybe we know each other...or not!! It's like, "Oh, I lived in NYC too...do you know my Aunt Lula Bell?" Thanks for the update and enjoy your day.

Oh, the fun adventures of travel! May all the difficulties be on the front end of your journey. Getting ready for church. We will miss you. Sister Kemp went to be with the Lord Sat. Funeral Mon. May the Lord keep you healthy and allow you safe but happily eventful experiences on your journey.
