Our park was very quiet after all. We head out to what Ed had been hoping for all along. The wind was to our back and he could maintain the speed limit with no problems. He was a much happier fellow today when he could use his cruise control! . The scenery is quite varied. Some might say boring since I nodded off several times.
VAST! That is the biggest word I can think of. Most of the day was hours of wheat fields or buttes and balds. Cities were not crowded like I think of a city. Most cities and towns are nestled in valleys or in out right open spaces. We saw our first mountains with snow in the distance. At an elevation of about 5000 feet we saw clouds frozen on evergreens. Beautiful. We crossed the continental divide too.
If Ed was happy with the much improved driving conditions, I was happy with our lunch stop. We went to Wheat Montana. This is a deli and bakery. They sell everything Montana from cereals and grains to breads and PASTRIES. We had our lunch and bought various sandwich bread and sundries. We noticed that their sourdough slices were 35 mg of sodium. That was great news for someone now on a low sodium diet.
we finally stopped at a super Walmart. We had to pick up the extension cord so that I could have a microwave! SUCCESS. It worked. We tried it in the parking lot! I bought the first cherries I had seen this season there! They were excellent. Seems as we get gas in every other town, but the price is still about 2.49.
Susan wants everyone to know that she is having a great time.
we are seeing beautiful yellow wildflowers in western Montana. Not sure just what they are.
We pulled into the Nugget RV park. This is the nicest we have seen this trip!
The microwave worked and the smoke alarm did not sound at dinner. This was a much better day. We will not talk about the fuse tripping in the back slide out again.
I have totally forgotten to include the miles we covered. I did not even record them!!
So to catch up:
miles today: 463. Total for the trip: 1323
wifi is so sporadic that I am sitting on a bench at the office to try to get this out!

Well, we are both thankful that you had a better travel day today. We stopped at a Montana Wheat on our trip last year just before heading into Glacier National Park. Their food is delicious and yes, sometimes we may all be happier NOT reading labels!!

Three cheers for the tail wind and the extension cord, life is good!! Glad Susan is having a good time. I'm sure a tasty pastry helped that.. Hope you get some long downhill runs along with the tailwind to help the fuel mileage, lol.
Enjoy the scenery and take more pictures!
Be safe and have fun....

Ahh... hopefully, the beginning of tranquility. Glad most everything went well for a day. Some day I hope to see that Big Sky country. Soak it all in. Bring home the pictures Susan.
