Intro or so

Monterrey, Northern Mexico, Mexico
Somehow it doesn't feel right to just start posting without making a proper introduction to this blog. And from this point of view the configuration of Travelpod doesn’t help much: who I am, what I want, where do I go, title of the blog, picture of the blog, blah blah. I’m surely in no mood to write much about myself after all those grad school application essays and the month spent squeezing my life in 500 words. This blog is for the unedited ramblings, insofar as my own compulsions will let me. My plan is to get as far south in Latin America as time, mood and money will allow and do it precisely as I feel like along the way. I’m shooting for Ushuaia but may not go past Peru or even less. I’ve fantasized about this kind of journey since I was a kid, dreamt about this particular trip for at least five years, postponed it for almost a year and a half, but it’s finally here. Chances are it’s going to take me a few days to actually start feeling it J. Bizarrely enough as I’m writing this in the hostel in Monterrey, some Austrian guy plays loudly on his cell phone Bregovic’s Mesecina in the common area. Not the music I expected my first day in Mexico. Pretty sure the guy’s not Hans!

However Bregovic brings me to another thing: the stew I’m probably going to make on this blog. I’m still completely ambivalent about the language I should write in and while I resolutely started out in English there’s a good chance I’ll be switching to Romanian at times. Because first impressions are usually in Romanian and often times I don’t want to lose them.

These being said welcome to my blog, Hai hui prin Lumea Noua (roughly Wandering the New World)!
