Lost in Seminyak...and Legian

Bali, Indonesia
This morning we decided to walk to the big supermarket in Seminyak, Bintang Supermarket. We decided to try a shortcut but got lost, then more lost and then hopelessly lost.
A 10-15 minute walk ended up as a 10km ultra-marathon and we ended up in Legian, nowhere near where we wanted to go. We asked some security staff at the hotel we ended up arriving at how to get to the supermarket but they had no idea so we trudged on hot, sweaty and with no idea where we were.
We somehow made it to the main road where the supermarket was and asked some Australians passing by how to get to the supermarket. They told us to keep going the way we were going the way we were for another 500m.
2km later still no supermarket but we were back in Legian. Losing the will to live we asked another person how to get to the supermarket. They told us to go back the way we came for 15 minutes.
We eventually found the supermarket which was about 30m from where the Australian tourist nuffies sent us in the wrong direction. In the end the supermarket was crap and that was half a day if our lives we cannot get back.
We walked back to the hotel without taking any shortcuts. After lunch we had a swim at the hotel pool then went to dinner at Warung Siam which was really good.
We ended the day with a few cocktails at the rooftop bar as we had free cocktails between 6pm and 7.30pm each night included in our room rate.
