I GET EVEN

Bangkok, Tennessee, Thailand
I had my Suk 11 hostel until Monday morning. Now I move to Soi 1 to my next hostel. I am in a room with 4 beds. The shower is inside and has a water heater that works. The shower and toilet are in the same room. The sink, still one facuet, is outside in a hallway. $13 U.S. a night.

There is only one other person in the room . He is Jaren from Sweden. He tells me about Sweden. The country only has 7-9 million people in the whole country. It only has one big city and the rest are small towns and villages. We chat and he fills me in on some other places in Thailand to visit. The information is good, and is a good reason I am choosing hostels over hotels, the interaction.

A you move around the city there are murals of the King of Thailand everywhere. Never criticize the King, it is illegal and will land you jail time. Also, there are buddhist statues every block or two. Sometimes alms are placed there by the thai people. Sometimes they stop for a moment for a prayer I think.

Often the sidewalks have big pot holes in them. You really have to watch your step as you walk around town.

I don't think I mentioned the jeans the boys and men in Jordan airport were wearing. The fist one I saw had white paint or chalk looking on the back of the legs from the hips to about the knee bend. I thought he must have sat in something. But, then I start seeing other men and boys with the same jeans. A fashion apparently. I don't recall seeing them in the U.S., but, maybe I should ask some of my nephews about them.

As I walk around town in Bagkok, I am happy to see the men and boys are no taller than I am. In the states once a boys passes 13 I have to look up at them. Here, I am even with them. Sometimes I am even a little taller than some of them. I love Thailand. I am sure if I am in the market for clothing I will be able to find them in my size here with no problem.
