Phnom Penh, Cambodia
I kinda liked Phnom Penh. It had a certain charm. Big city in a small town kind of way. We did the obligatory Royal Palace and Wat Phnom (the temple on the hill that gives Phnom Penh half of it's name - Phnom means hill and Penh was the name of the lady that pulled a tree out of the river that contained various buddist relics, just before founding a city there).

Checked out the local markets - Russian Market where you all the westerners go to by cheap stuff - that was a complete chaos of sounds, sights, smells - I had to get out of there after 20 minutes or so, it was just totally crazy . Picked up some local trousers (thin, long and comfortable) and then headed up to the Central Market where we'd heard you could buy Spiders to eat... Found the spiders, various beetles, grasshoppers and larvae - all deep fried and ready to eat. Hum'd and ha'd for a while and then chickened out. Took some photos though - we'll try and upload those some time when we get somewhere with a decent internet speed.

Left Phnom Penh early (just for a change), US$7 each for a super luxury bus. Free water, free bun thing, free cambodian karaoke on the tv for 6 hours. Alright!
