Don Det, Laos
After arriving in Don Det, we just took the first place we saw - US$2 for the night, they had a bed, roof, 4 walls and a shared shower/toilet. That was fine, we just wanted beer.
Ended up drinking the night away with some like minded fellow travellers - some of whom had been on the mini-bus in the morning, and one of whom we travelled the whole way with
. Kham Phong Guesthouse was the lucky bungalow place, and their restaurant is cracking. Right on the river front, cold beer, cheap, reasonable food and great music (Ben Harper, Nina Simone, Norah Jones - groovy combination).
Tomorrow it's off to the neighbouring island - Don Khon - and our promised Raft Hotel...
