Koh Lanta, Thailand
If the diving on Koh Tao was great then here it's fantastic :)

We did a day trip (2 dives) with Lanta Diver down to Koh Haa (which literally means 5 Islands, although there are 6 there for some reason) . The visibility was incredible, with it feeling like you were swimming in an aquarium or something. We saw sea snakes for the first time and they weren't as scary as we were expecting (way smaller, and the teeth wouldn't even break your skin), as well as Lion Fish and massive amounts of other cool stuff :) Definitely into diving in a big way it has to be said. Kristina still isn't so keen, but really enjoyed the dives here.

After a hard day on the beach yesterday we were off on a snorkel tour today to... 4 islands (of which there are 5 - do Thais have a counting problem?). Started off badly, no flippers and crap visibility at the first stop, but the scenary above the water was great and the second stop was an 80m swim through the Emerald Cave into a 'secret' lagoon in the middle of one of the islands. Swimming along in pitch darkness is kinda cool, and coming out into this great little lagoon was incredible. Then it was lunch on the beach and more islands before the final stop for a bit more snorkelling. This stop was great with fantastic visibility and huge numbers of fish & corals to gaze at in wonder. Cool :) The tour was with Petpailin and was pretty good, but the one one Phi Phi was way better - this one is really off the regular passenger boat taking people down to stay on the smaller islands, whereas the other was a proper snorkel tour.

Tomorrow we're off to Koh Jum, a little island halfway between here and Krabi on the mainland. The ferry to Krabi stops just off the coast there and they come out and pick you up in longtail boats, so we're guessing that it will be way less touristy and a great place to relax before winding up our trip.
