I've been in South Africa for a week now and I've been pretty busy so haven't been able to get on the internet until now. I flew into Johannesburg and arrived early Friday morning. I then went to my hostel and went on a little tour of the city with one of the guys from the hostel. I was meant to be leaving the next day to go on safari in Kruger National Park, but the bus didn't turn up, so I stayed in Joburg for another couple of days and went to Soweto Township too. There are various pictures up on ringo, I'll try and write what most of them are of if I have time. It was all very interesting and a bit of an insight into how people around there live.
On Monday I went on my safari and had a really good four days. There was a nice group of people and the place where we camped was pretty good. We managed to see quite a few animals, but sadly no lions or leopars which is what I was really hoping to see. On the last day we got moved to a 5* lodge with a chimpanzee sanctuary, so that was really nice. As I'm travelling alone and was the only girl in the group doing so I got a room all to myself and everyone else was in twins. I had a massive bed and it was so comfortable - it was great! That was last night.
I am now in Nelspruit which is near to the Kruger Park and will be travelling shortly to Swaziland. I am staying in a hostel that looked really nice in all the guide books, and has a really nice room. However they seem to have a load of pet dogs that are everywhere you go - including the bathroom and they all smell of wet dog! Not very pleasant, but I'm only here for two nights, and at least the bed is clean!
I could write for ages about all the things that I have done, but unfortunately I don't have the time to sit and write loads of detail about everything, and I'm sure you don't have the time to sit and read it all.
