Since I wrote last week I've travelled through Swaziland and now I'm in Mozambique. I had four days in Swazi. For the first two nights I stayed in a hostel that is located within a wildlife sanctuary, so there were lots of animals wondering around. I went on a walk and spotted all sorts of things and had the chance to get close to some zebras which was great.
On the first night in Swaziland I went out with a couple of people I met on the bus from Nelspruit that were staying at the same place as me. We ended up bumping into some other people that we knew and some people that they knew so there were about 12 of us out for a meal and then to the local club House On Fire - which is the most amazing venue ever! I had a great night, and even managed to get my new friend Chris (from Australia) to agree to come to Mozambique with me, so I didn't have to come on my own!
On one of the days we went on a Swazi highlights tour and saw lots of different things. We had the chance to see House On Fire in the daylight and it looks like a completely different place and there was so much more to see there than I had seen in the night time. We went to lots of different craft places and saw some really amazing things being made too. We also went to a cultural village and learnt about traditional Swazi culture and watched some dancing and singing and even got to join in a bit at the end which was fun.
In Mozambique we spent one night in the capital, Maputo, and then moved north to Tofo beach. We've spent four nights here so far. It's beautiful and completely untouched. There's no shops, ATMs or internet or anything like that so I've travelled into the local city today on a rather interesting bus ride!
I've been on an ocean safari and swam with whale sharks, which was incredible. There was one that was so big and so close, we were swimming with it for ages. The diving here is also amazing with loads of fish that are so beautiful - I don't even know what half of them are, and there are lots of manta rays too.
I've had a great time here and am really glad that I made the journey off the route of my bus ticket to come and see what it's like. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. I'll get some pictures up once I get back to civilisation and the internet may be able to cope with me uploading photos.
