A little piece of Strass goes a long way

Strasbourg, Alsace, France
With some trepidation we hire pushies for the day. The city is very bike friendly, I guess helped by the fact that the universities host 40,000 students whilst uni in term. Naturally the Don has to have training wheels fitted to his bike! We ride and we ride and we ride, we book a water cruise for early evening and then ride some more, disaster in the ranks as a fall takes place. I dearly would like to report that it was the Don but alas cannot make light of this one, poor Maddie came a cropper, only a little skin off her leg with a few tears then she hopped back on again. Pity her toughness doesn't run in the family, fancy stopping half way in the finals of the butterfly!

A word on WiFi - right throughout my / our adventures the availability and then strength has been at best average, out of 100 say, 40 . M-L and the Don (especially) try and get on line at every and I mean every opportunity. I do apologise folks for not a regular supply of blogs but not only do I have to adventure to implement but access and then being able to download are another situation again.

We rendezvous back at the ranch to sort out where and what next - from tomorrow for five nights we are off in a Penichette 1107W Classique. Suffer people but hope you join us in spirit.

As you all know I can manage most situations but no more, enough is enough, it is time, my patience is at the end of its tether, in the river it must go. My camera and I must part ways and a good quick clean break it is - I now have a new Sony whizz bang 20 mega pixel, 30 optical zoom job, my frustrations at end, why did I hold on this long with the heap of junk - John it's got a Panoramic feature so now able to move in your circle!

Tea - whatever happened to tea leaves, isn't that what tea is? It is a disgrace that the ritual of taking tea is at such a low ebb, is it just the places I gravitate to but not a teapot with black stuff at the bottom has been found . Stick a crappy bag in some water and charge em 3 to 4 euro for the pleasure. A national disgrace. We have set an aim of finding some decent tea houses before the big bird takes off. Devonshire Tea, High Tea, Morning Tea, Afternoon Tea, anytime tea but please nothing in a damn bag. It is just the little things in life that make the big difference.

Drop off the bikes then get lost a number of times in making our way to the boat for our Strasbourg canal cruise. Along the way we come across a Charcuterie shop, so Strass it is during our boat trip of Strasbourg. No matter what it was going to taste great and it was, another tick in the tick file. Always good to get a water level view of anywhere, this place in particular as it is often termed little Venice within the old part of the city. We see that we have only just scratched the surface of this place but we are glad that we have spent some time here within in the region of Alsace. New adventures abound tomorrow so sleep with a smile tonight.
