Really Wicked

Another sortie into London town today with the central location of Piccadilly Circus as the set off point. Again placed M-L onto the hop on hop off bus, this time the Don along for the ride, increases the chance of them never being seen again ten fold!

Maddie is in need of some me time so she and her mum have arranged a rendezvous point mid afternoon with us .

I have he luxury of some more investigative time, today the target is the food and hospitality store Fortnum & Mason, they have had a presence in Piccadilly since 1707. A delight to any hospitality minded person, a store where the front door is still opened for you. Yes the cost for this is absorbed in the unit retail price but the finer things in life still exist and can be found in this hospitality sanctuary. I have posted a photo of a child's cake at around $100 and for great Grandmon some glacé fruit, if you can think of a food, beverage or luxury hospitality item it will be on offer at F & M's.

The kids on the bus were late, believe the Don slept through most of it (he has hay fever and a shoulder that needs a reconstruction) with M-L enjoying every step of the way. Meet up after some more tube surfing with Kathy and Maddie as we are seeing the stage show Wicked this afternoon. Our seats are right in the middle of the second front row so have a birds eye view of all the action. The music outstanding as were the general cast, all in all some fine entertainment.

Tonight we went out to the Royal Standard of England Alehouse for a pub meal. This place is reportedly the oldest pub in England with parts of the place a tad over 900 years old, a few jugs of Pimms were had along with some traditional English pub grub. Home early as the Don still worse for wear.
