Debra has us at the Hive Beach Cafe which is recognised (by someone) as a top beachside eatery - turns out someone was right . The area is a sea fishing mecca with crab being particularly famous in Dorset. Busy busy, but the mushy peas, really, what are they thinking.

After this head into the small fishing village of West Bay, take on the joys of the small pebble beach in a howling gale, to the locals just a gentle breeze. The tide is out, in these parts this means a fall of around three metres. The seagulls are on steroids, double the size of the ones in Melbourne. Thus can make double the mess if you get my drift, the eateries around the harbour have a problem with their furniture.

Just down the road is to be our resting place for the next three nights, Eype House Caravan Park. It is set right on a cliff face overlooking the pebble beach and wild water. It has started to rain, is windy and wild plus a tad coolish. Settle in, larger than the canal boats which is a bonus. Best place to head in this situation is the free Alehouse, The George and by George it does the trick. British bitters for Kim, Fosters or ciders for us with the girls on the smalls. They have wine by the large glass or the small glass. Our girls just drink twice as many smalls but they feel better when ordering for it.

Do the typical thing in these parts, play games. The girls play cards and the boys into dominoes, all absorbed into this quaint activity as feels so homely as well. You get tired doing not a lot - apart from eating and drinking that is so hit the sack, by the way a sack could well be more comfortable then these "beds".
