Time to leave England & return home

Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom
An easy day today as we prepare to depart and head back into the real world where anything could have happened. I have not used a mobile telephone for twelve weeks, nor read a newspaper or watched television (apart from a little tennis and World Cup soccer this week) and have survived, to mind actually prospered. Maybe also shows the significance of ones self in the entire scheme of things although the iPad has been handy for modern communication plus seeking knowledge on forward ports of call.

Anyway, we pack to our maximum allowance of 30 kilos per person - it all seems so final . I guess that's because it is!

One final jaunt to our (new) favourite across the road farm shop and the yurtified Wild Strawberry Cafe for a light lunch, scones and naturally tea leaf tea. Also find some time to wander into the strawberry patches and sample some of the free fare. Ahh the simple things again. Head back where I try to stall for time and stall the time but alas no joy, well certainly no Debra Joy very soon.

Late afternoon we say our farewells then head to Gatwick airport to board our 9.00 pm flight back home, the first sector is to Dubai, at least this leg is in an A380 plane so an ok amount of leg and backside room but cattle class is really exactly that. Folks some advice, when you reach fifty years it is not going to make a material difference to those you leave behind if there are a few $$$ less in the kitty - go at least premium economy over and business class back plus have a stopover in a (close to) Australian time zone.
