Why did I bother setting an alarm? Here I am awake every hour from 2am given up now it's almost 5. Despite the double glazing the drone from the Heathrow approach road was annoying good job I never travel without my trusty earplugs. All set now for the off at 6.30 guess I can safely turned off the alarm now.

Arrived at the airport early and whet to print off our baggage labels only for it to fail, when we asked for help we were told it as because we'd been reseated . Oh no I thought we've lost our Upper Deck seats again. Once we'd checked our luggage in we went to the desk only to be told they'd reseated us so we were sitting together. Phew!!!! my faith in Singapore Airlines has been restored.

Flight boarded on time but was delayed 30mins In the queue for takeoff, but we made that up on route and arrived early. Collected our paperwork from Singapore Stopover desk and waited for the bus to bring us into the city. Booked into our hotel just after 9 the. Decided to use the free bus travel cards for a tour of the city but it's just too hot and sticky so went back to hotel for a cool swim, and it was cool but lovely. Now moved round to the larger pool and jacuzzi sitting under the shade, don't want to get burnt on day 1.
   Singapore has changed dramatically In 2 years with many more tower blocks going up, a new subway system under construction and it seems building work everywhere. Reminiscent of our trip to Boston USA In the middle of the big dig project. 

Two years ago there was one Hop on hop off tourist bus serving the whole city now there are 4 all with different routes must remember to get on the Yellow Route tomorrow

Don't intend to do much else today we will definitely be getting an early night so we can enjoy the Orchids at the Botanical Gardens tomorrow. 

This is hotel may be a bit old now in comparison with lots in the city but you now get FREE Wifi In all rooms, FREE transport on The Hop on hop off tourist buses and even a FREE phone that you can use to call UK and Australia as part of th Singapore Stopover deal. Fantastic value for money.


After a sit round the pool went back up to our room for a shower then walked to Clarke's Quay for some dinner about 4.30 returning to the hotel about 6 pm and off to bed. Now I'm awake again at 11.30pm GREAT.
