Australia Day

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Today is a Bank Holiday for Australia Day, Karen was off early on Council Commitments . Today is the day anyone whose successfully been accepted for citizenship are presented with their papers, this happens in every area and is a very big event hence Councillors have to attend. I was planning on going but wasn’t ready on time, the boys are watching Star Wars while Chris and Paul are preparing the lunch for us and the guests most of whom seem to be
expats.

Almost finished lunch preparations when Chris got a text from Karen to say she had fallen over and badly grazed her knee caused by having to park a long way from the arena and slipped on the gravel paths on the way back. Thankfully there was some first aid there who cleaned the wound and put a big band aid on it, but she much preferred the medicine administered on
her return which was Bubbly Bubbly and more Bubbly.

Great day, what a lovely group of friends, one couple were the owners of The Artisan Café and another who own Joan Pantry’s we’ve been to the Café so the pantry will have to be next on our list. Way too much food and wine was consumed by us all but it was a fun day.

On Australia Day they have the top 100 songs which everyone votes in, unfortunately no one in this house got it right, our choice was only fourth. Way too much food and wine but a fantastic day.

After everyone left before 7pm and we settled down to watch the tennis and was so happy that Roger Federer finally got through to the final, his first Grand Slam Final for around 5 years. Limited photos to follow as the tennis has taken over from downloading photos
