Well it’s Valentine’s Day and our last day here in Oz, wokeup early around 6 .30 to find a message from Jan saying that Steve (Paul’sbrother) is so unwell that he won’t be able to pick us up on Thursday, andasking us to call. We knew he’d been ill since we left and somehow I had thefeeling this would happen. This has been going on for nearly a year but theweek after we left we thought it was sorted when he was told it was caused by kidney stones which he had then passed but obviously not, now it looks as if he will be back in hospital for more tests. Must say it’s a bit of a worry and we should be the last thing on his mind. However, a message to Martin (Paul’s cousin) and he’s saved the day and agreed to meet us. What a way to end a wonderful holiday, fingers crossed they find out exactly what the problem is and get it sorted quickly.

Still with all this happening it did mean we were up in time to see Chris leave for work and spend some time with the boys before they left for school. When Karen came back from the school run she offered to come with us to the hotel and airport and then we could go to a nearby shopping area until our room would be ready at 2pm . After wandering round the shops and having lunch at Subway we still had about half an hour free so we headed down to Henley Beach for our last walk in the sun. She then dropped us at the Aviator Lodge and headed back to pick up the boys from school.

Once in our room we sorted the cases out a bit better and thought of going for a swim but the temperature today is only 21 and the water was a bit cool so decided getting the cossies wet and possibly not getting them dried again wasn’t a good idea so we just sat in the sun for a while. I then came in for a nice coffee, a shower and a quiet time before we go for dinner at The Biggles Restaurant later. Not very often we go out for a meal on Valentines Day.  

Tomorrow the long journey home begins with an early morning flight to Singapore we then have an overnight stop there before our final flight back to the UK on Thursday lunchtime.
