Los Antiguos, Patagonia, Argentina
Situated on the shores of Lago Buenos Aires, Los Antiguos is a calm little town with rows of poplar trees sheltering 'chacras' (small, independent farms) of cherries, strawberries, apples, apricots and peaches. The Fiesta de la Cereza (cherry festival) occurs in January. Over this period the town swells with visitors. However, it seems that for the rest of the year nothing much happens in Los Antiguos! We enjoyed a day of relaxation after our hiking exploits in Patagonia and it was a good point to break the long drive north to Bariloche.

Onward overnight bus to Bariloche, 14 hours .
