Salto, Uruguay
Slightly harrowed by our visit to the slaughter house, we sought a couple of days refuge in Salto and its nearby hot springs. The Termas de Dayman was a good place to wile away an afternoon and is a popular spot for maté-in-hand Uruguayans too.

The other reason we came to Salto was to cross the Rio Uruguay (20 mins) to Concordia, Argentina, as we began our journey north towards Paraguay .

Salto is also the birthplace of Luis Suarez. We managed to leave town without biting anyone...

Onward night bus Concordia to Posadas, 8 hours.
