Travel Day

This morning we packed up and headed to Las Vegas NV . We traveled south on US 89A, east on AZ 389 and UT 59, west on UT 9, south on I-15 and I-515 to our destination in Las Vegas at the Duck Creek RV Park. Most of the drive was through the desert and monotonous; however, the drive over the mountains was beautiful until we came to an 8% downgrade for several miles with a stop sign at the bottom as we came into the town of Hurricane. After setting up camp we took advantage of the pool, in spite of the 103 degree air temperature the pool was refreshing, but shade was definitely a necessity when sitting at poolside. This is the first time we used a pool on this trip as all of our previous campgrounds were either too cold or too windy. A pleasant surprise was that this campground did not have dirt and gravel sites; the downside is that the entire place is asphalt, with some shrubbery separating the individual sites.

Watch out for the one-armed bandits in the casinos! Glad that you were able to enjoy the pool to cool off and relax. Temps for you have been at both ends of the spectrum.
