Travel Day

We traveled north on US Rt. 395 out of Carson City and into California. After leaving the Reno area it was a short drive to the California border and the inspection station that everyone must stop at; we were asked if we had firewood or a watercraft, but were not asked about citrus fruit, so there was no delay. Continuing north on US Rt. 395 the drive was through the same type of sagebrush desert that we had seen in Nevada until we started to gain altitude and we started to see some short trees; the lack of water limits the number and size of the trees and bushes. We found a nice campground in the town of Susanville CA, at the Susanville RV Park, where we have wide level concrete parking pads with some grass / weeds between the sites. In the afternoon we explored the area in and around the town of Susanville.
