Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Left Calgary with lots of snow and cold and headed to Vancouver for two days with Tim and Kristi and kids before embarking on our sojourn.

This comes as we leave the blizzards behind and have just arrived in Auckland-- ahh, summer again! We are here to disburse our sister Linda's household goods and will also facilitate a CHE training while here .

Many of you know how we deliberated until the very last minute as to whether we should postpone this trip yet again, due to another surgery for Linda, but in the last few days we felt at ease with her care and are relatively comfortable leaving her. After looking after things here, we plan to proceed to PNG the end of the month.

We have roughly divided the next 4 months as follows: NZ for January, PNG- February, Cambodia and Myanmar- March, Cambodia again briefly, and Philippines- April. Early May we will present at a Christian medical conference in Greece before making our way home. Sounds straightforward, right?!

Having said all that, we recognize the need for flexibility and that Sharon or both of us be prepared to return home if Linda's situation grows worse. That is our biggest prayer request, that she is well enough to discharge from hospital and settle into an assisted living home and feel cared for and happy .

Our main goal for this trip and the many places we will visit, is to encourage the CHE trainers and to work together for creative new ideas with their leaders. Being in the right place at the right time is God's part to coordinate, as there are too many unknown factors to plan far ahead!

Most years at this time we coordinate a regional conference bringing together colleagues from about 12 countries, always a highlight for us. This year it is to be split into 3 sub-regional groups. The host countries will plan and coordinate, and we will attend at least 2 of the 3 meetings.

We invite you to follow our travels on our newly introduced blog, where we will try to post as frequently as possible:

We promise to pray for you as well, as you let us know about your lives.

With love and thanks for your care for us,
Bill and Sharon
