Judaism is not a Religion and Israel is not a War Zone

For the first time in forever, Chanukkah and Christmas start exactly the same time and we are going to Israel for a quick seven day trip to celebrate the holiday and life in general. Although the weather forecast is for cold, wind and rain, our spirits will stay bright as we attend two weddings, catch up with Veronica during her intersession, spend time with a dozen or more friends from Massachusetts who have made Israel their home, and check out the geologically-old and high tech-new aspects of the Negev. Along the way we fill in every spare minute with reconnecting with the friends we made in our past 30 trips to Israel.This is Marcia's third trip to Israel this year and my second, but for us it never gets old.
