Turning 50. Bloody hell, even now, a month later I still can't believe I'm that old but I suppose that's a good thing. So, I chose a cruise, again, to 'celebrate' this momentous occasion. This time, instead of heading across the other side of the globe for a holiday, I wanted us to get a taxi to the ship. This limited us to two cruise lines and two cruise ships - P&O's Pacific Dawn and Princess' Sun Princess. Sun Princess it was. So last year we took a two day cruise from Brisbane to Sydney to get a taste of what to expect and booked this year's cruise while onboard. Booking onboard let us rebook if prices came down, and they did. LOTS. We saved $1500 from when we booked onboard. Turning 50 meant it was a balcony cabin or nothing so we booked cheapest balcony as a 'guarantee' and ended up with a two category upgrade (same cabin, a bit higher) when the cabin was allocated. So where did we go - 11 day Fijian Jewels. Noumea New Caledonia, Isle of Pines New Caledonia, Suva Fiji Port Denarau Fiji and finishing in Vila Vanuatu.
