Astana, Kazakhstan

A new season, and a new travel saga as I (hopefully) follow Ireland all the way to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. First stop is Kazakhstan, yes Kazakhstan. This is such a faraway exotic destination and a step into the complete unknown that I couldn't not go. And snapping up my flight 6 months ago mean I can do this trip at a relatively affordable price.
