Double Eagle Dave's White Sox Fantasy Camp Tag-Along

First, you must know my friend, Skip Kitchen. Skip is quite a character. He and I first met when we were dorm directors at ISU. Skip was a pretty hard-a$$ dorm director. I think we combined to send the most students in one year to the Student Code Enforcement and Review Board (SCERB) for breaking dorm rules...sounds bad, doesn't it? Anyway, we got to know Skip and his wife Denise very well. In fact, in the middle of the semester, after I had already got a job in Admissions and Records, Skip left for Chicago and his wife, Denise roomed with us for about three months while she finished out teaching the school year at Holy Trinity Grade School in Bloomington. We have been close friends for a long time. We've partied, spent birthdays and holidays together...just good, good friends. Skip has always been a "wheeler-dealer." I told Sandy that he would make and lose several fortunes in his lifetime...and I believe he has. He's a larger than life character, but a person who cares about his friends deeply and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He epitomizes the phrase, "Friends will help you move...real friends will help you move the bodies!" Skip would help me move the bodies!!! Skip and Denise are now divorced, but we have remained friends with both of them. They are both quality people. So, Skip called in mid-December, and asked, "What are you doing January 16-23?" I said, "Nothing. Remember, I'm retired. What did you have in mind? He said, (and this is vintage Skip), "Well, I was at this wine tasting and they had this raffle by some tequila company...and the winner gets an all expense paid trip to the White Sox Fantasy Camp in Phoenix in January. So I entered and I won. And I get to take a guest. Would you like to go with me?" I told him (as he already knew), I'm a Cubs fan. He said, you don't get to go to the camp, but there are several events you can attend as my guest and you can meet all the players and we're staying in this luxury resort which has 3 golf courses attached to it. (Magic Word!) "I'm in!" I said. Well, that's how this whole thing started!
