Australia and Indonesia - 2013

For a very long time, I have wanted to go to Tasmania. While on a Balkan tour, I mentioned this to Doreen who is from Australia and she said she would travel in Tasmania with me. When I started to plan my spring 2013 trip, I had trouble deciding between Tasmania and a tour of Bangladesh, Bhutan and India. I had trouble deciding but then the tour was booked up so that made it easier. Tasmania, here I come!! I almost despaired of finding a reasonably priced flight, then Sharon told me about Travel Team that a friend of hers uses. I managed to find a tour in Sumatra, Java & Bali that I signed up for as well. The final link was a stop in Darwin to connect with Heather who runs a B&B farmstay: Eden in Fogg Dam - that has won awards. Heather has kept in touch with annual updates ever since 1984 when we met on my very first trip out of the country - to the USSR.
