Breakfast with Elephants in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has been here waiting to be discovered, being passed by travelers on their way to more popular places such as India, and Southeast Asia. But Sri Lanka has everything they have and more. Empty Beaches, ancient ruins, stunning train rides, wonderful Spicy food, and lots of Elephants! The war here has ended, the country has recovered from the devastating Tsunami, and traveling without hoards of other tourists always appeals to me. Things are still very cheap here, $1 train rides, and guest houses for $36 including a delicious breakfast sound enticing. I know I’ve found a great destination when i only have a few friends who have been to where I’m going. The journey here is long... but the best places usually are. There really isn’t an easy way to get here. It will take 3 long flights and 25 hours of flying to reach my new destination. The journey for me is always part of the adventure, the greater the reward when I venture to far away places. On this trip I will visit Colonial towns, deserted white sand beaches, practice yoga over looking the sea, take a safari with heards of elephants, ride in open air trains through green tea plantations, stay in a guesthouse on the edge of a cliff overlooking waterfalls, hike up a stunning rock full of monkeys, eat wonderful food, get massages , sleep under the stars in a treehouse in the jungle, and have breakfast with Elephants. “Travel is meant to challenge your mind, enrich your spirit , and feed your soul . “ This trip will do all that and more.
