It's all about the teeth-Travels in Vietnam

Due to a windfall of money as a result of my car accident in February 2011 I am able to leave Oz again on the 3 year anniversary of that accident. One month in Vietnam. The first week being spent getting new teeth. Yeah I'm living the high life. The trip is fairly unstructured, the first week is all about the teeth and a visit to Gia Long Palace where President Diem holed up when he got wind of the coup against him engineered partly by his friends the Americans who helped him into power in the first place. I plan on visiting the iconic place for Australians, Nui Dat and Long Tan. Last trip we went to the Cu Chi tunnels and the Cao Dai temple which is well worth visiting but not this time. Then on to Hanoi for a taste of the Old Quarter and the traffic which I have been told is worse than Saigon. How can that be? I'll find out in due course Then another war related visit to Dien Bien Phu where General Giap and the Viet Minh decimated the French ending their tenure in Vietnam in 1954. Anyone who says the French can't fight should read some accounts of this battle. Back to Hanoi by plane or bus then on to Danang and Hoi An. Last time we visited we went to Hue and it was stifling hot and humid. Maybe I will visit again now when its cooler. Also on the cards is a visit to Son My or is that My Son? The Hindu temple site not the massacre which we call My Lai but the Vietnamese call by another name. A week in Hoi An eating.Going to be missing my kids and grandkids by then. Saigon-then home.
