Journey to the East
Greg and I are setting off on another cycling adventure, this time to S. Korea and Japan. It is a 6-week trip, and we will be cycling around 1800 miles, once again with TDA Global Cycling. We will know 11 of the other participants in this tour, and we are really looking forward to connecting with some of our old friends! As we have been preparing for this trip, and talking about how very excited we are to be heading to a new part of the world, I have been reminiscing about how excited we have been for some of our previous trips. We were saying we might be more excited about this trip than any other, but then I started thinking! Our first long trip was Tour Arctic, where we rode to Dawson City in the Yukon, then rode 500 miles north to Inuvik, crossing the Arctic Circle. We were SO excited, and nervous - our first big trip, lots of dirt, camping. Then there was Hong Kong to Singapore - so many SE Asian countries we would get to see from the seat of a bike! That first trip after Covid, Ljubljana to Gibraltar, after 2 years of no travel sent goose bumps down our arms and brought tears to my eyes! Then last summer, Paris to Istanbul - riding past the Eiffel Tower, sailing up the Bosporus into Istanbul, and every wonderful thing in between, was another adventure. And I almost forgot out longest trip in Australia and NZ, riding through the Outback wishing that part of the trip was over, then immediately missing it when it was over! Going to Australia had been a dream since I was in high school! So yes, we are excited for this trip, and feeling so overwhelmingly grateful for all the amazing opportunities we have had to see the world and experience so many different cultures! I hope you enjoy following along with us once again. Fondly, Greg and Eve
