This Is Africa

It’s been a while since a big trip, so it’s time to pack up my bags and get on the road again. The only real question was: where to? The Americas? Been there, done that (no, not the USA, but Chile, Jamaica, Barbados certainly). Asia? Most definitely bought that t-shirt (Indonesia, Thailand). Europe? No comment necessary. Oceania? Well, Big Fella already went walkabout. So that really leaves one continent – Africa. The continent was decided but that took me back to the original question: where to? There are 54 independent countries to choose from. Time to stick a pin in the map. The winner was Ghana! West Africa seemed like a good move and while there I thought about ‘popping’ over to Sierra Leone. As soon as my sister-in-law (from Sierra Leone) heard that she was desperate to join me on the trip. When she told a friend of hers, who happened to be from Nigeria originally, this friend suggested including both Nigeria and her on the trip. Suddenly there were three of us to visit three countries. We were to visit Nigeria, Ghana and Sierra Leone. Bring it on!
